The Romanian Cultural Centre in London

ROMANIAN, ADJECTIVE, the 7th edition of the Romanian Film Festival in London, is happy to again be bringing you the country’s most exciting and serious new talents. This year, in order to create a broader view of Romania and its culture, as well as its social and historical context, we have added a range of special events that include a masterclass, documentary film screenings and discussions.

As you know, director Corneliu Porumboiu will be in London for the Gala Screening of his POLICE, ADJECTIVE on the opening night of the Festival, on 2 July. Taking advantage of his presence here, we have arranged with the London Film School for Corneliu to hold a masterclass there on 1 July.

To contextualise better what film critics everywhere have described as “The Romanian New Wave”, we have included, in collaboration with Curzon Soho, a DocDay screening on 5 July of the documentary film THE NEW WAVE OF ROMANIAN CINEMA, by Marius Doicov and Vincent Guyottot. Special guests – insiders of Romanian Cinema – will discuss this “New Wave” with the public. Please see the details below.
