Tuesday 6 March 2007 – Public Discussion on Romania and Bulgaria ’s EU accession

The Central and Eastern European Development Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science will organise a public discussion on topics related to the joining of the EU by Romania and Bulgaria. The aim of this event is to promote awareness and facilitate discussion about developments in Romania and Bulgaria in the context of their EU membership. Thursday 15 March 2007 – Conference on Romania and Bulgaria ’s EU accession, Birmingham

The European Research Institute of the University of Birmingham will host, on March 15, 2007, a one-day conference to mark Romania and Bulgaria’s accession to the European Union. The event will bring together academics, policy-makers, government officials, media and think-tank representatives to discuss issues of importance related to EU’s enlargement with Romania and Bulgaria. The Romanian Minister for Justice, Ms. Monica Macovei, will attend this conference and address the audience. Some of the panellists will be former Romanian and Bulgarian students of the European Research Institute. The heads of Romania and Bulgaria ’s missions in London will also give presentations.
