An audiovisual performance created by Gillian Lacey in collaboration with composer Alex Balanescu, sculptor Maurice Blik and animator Gemma Carrington.
Through the use of moving images, multiple screens and live music played by the Balanescu Quartet, ‘Second Breath’ interprets the life and artwork of Maurice Blik, who as a child survived Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
Second Breath poignantly expresses the power of the individual to survive and awaken to hope and new life.
This performance is a UK Premiere in association with the UK Jewish Film Festival.
Followed by a Q & A with the artists.
The performance lasts 45 minutes.
