The world’s greatest Gypsy band reclaim the classics! Over the last century, many composers drew their inspiration from Gypsy music to create a vision of an exotic, mysterious (and large imaginary) Orient. Now they’ve turned the tables – as Taraf de Haidouks take hold of works by Bartok, Manuel de Falla and even Edward Ketelbey, and ‘re-gypsyfy’ them by giving them an exhilarating Taraf once-over.
Opening the concert in her British debut is Amira, a stunning singer from Sarajevo.
This concert is part of ‘The 1000 Year Journey’ and ‘World & Roots’ programmes.
