After their extraordinary final night concert of 2005, Lichfield Festival welcomes back the stunning Halle orchestra with their principal guest conductor Cristian Mandeal. The cornerstone of the evening is the Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss performed by young German-Italian soprano Anja Kampe. The magnificent Four Last Songs was Strauss’ last work, and arguably his most profound. This dramatic evening will conclude with Dvorák’s Symphony No.7.
