For their Spring Concert 2008 Camerata Scotland, The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland’s pre-professional chamber ensemble, will be directed by acclaimed French conductor Diego Masson, in works by three of the 20th century’s most important composers.
Joined by one of Britain’s finest young pianists, Leon McCawley, the ensemble will perform an imaginative and energetic repertoire, which includes two of Ravel’s best-known works for piano. Audiences will also be able to enjoy a performance of Ligeti’s early ‘Concerto Romanesc’, and a rendition of the very piece that this pays homage to – Bartók’s lively Romanian Dances.
