A thrilling, raw combination of world music and jazz! Evelyn Petrova made her Bath debut with a stunning solo in 2005. This duo with the incredible violinist Alexander Balanescu combines extraordinary jazz virtuosity with the raw power of Russian folk and aching vocals. Tall, robust and beautiful with an extraordinary voice and muscular technique, Evelyn Petrova’s raw, rootsy primitivism blends seamlessly with the free flowing ease of a jazz improviser and the precision of a classical virtuoso.

Alexander Balanescu is an internationally renowned violinist who brings a Romanian intensity and honesty to a range of contemporary music ensembles including his own Balanescu Quartet.
