The maiden exhibition of Buzoianu’s imaginative and experimental "Urban Indispensables" collection invites a re-evaluation of the financial and industrial districts that are so often afforded scant attention. These regions, typically marginalized both physically and conceptually, are rarely afforded more than passing notice except in moments of calamity. Rarely do we pause to look past the austere stereotypes to discover the blend of grandeur and complexity that embodies these spaces with a noble beauty. Buzoianu’s work, coupling abstraction and surrealism shines a penetrating light on this neglected subject, juxtaposing the traditionalism and hyper-modernity that co-exist within London and innovatively re-imagining our relationship with these urban indispensables.
