One of the Festival’s connected events took place in the early afternon of Sunday 4 july, when – in the presence of director Dan Pita and actor Victor Rebengiuc – the Festival presented a special screening of the documentary film THE MINISTRY OF TRUTH.
The film details the scandal created in Ceausescu’s Romania when SAND CLIFFS was released (and almost immediately banned), a moment that changed the Romanian cinema for the last years of the communist regime. The screening was followed by a Q&A with Dan Pita, Victor Rebengiuc, and historian Stejarel Olaru, moderated by Dr Mike Phillips OBE.
