Presenting the major singers of today and the stars of tomorrow, the Rosenblatt Recitals are London's only world-class series of opera recitals. Romanian mezzo-soprano, Ruxandra Donose, performs a selection of songs and arias along with the pianist Roger Vignoles.

Since making her debut at the Royal Opera House in 2000, mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose has become a familiar voice and figure to London audiences, both as an opera star and prolific concert performer. Recent highlights include the role of Composer in the 2014 production of Ariadne auf Naxos, Donna Elvira in 2012’s Don Giovanni (both at Covent Garden) and Donose’s debut at ENO, when she took the title role in Calixto Bieito’s radically reimagined Carmen.
Born in Bucharest to a family of musicians, Donose started out training to become a concert pianist before switching to opera in her late teens. She graduated from Bucharest’s National University of Music before joining the Vienna State Opera in 1992, from where she has forged a career which has taken in many of the world’s leading opera houses. In the following video,Donose sings Donna Elvira’s aria ‘Ah, chi mi dice mai’ in a production of Don Giovanni at Opéra de Dijon.
