Youth takes the stage at the November concert of our longevous chamber music series as the 'Monte' Piano Trio, made of Francesco Sica – violin, Claude Frochaux – cello and Irina Botan – piano, tackles the rarely played 'Piano Trio No. 2 in A minor' by George Enescu. Praised by critics for their impeccable technique, the trio are expected to offer a memorable evening of glorious scores.

The 'Monte' Piano Trio was founded in 2008 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, Germany. They have performed at renowned festivals such as Schleswig-Holstein, Osnabrücker Chambermusic Festival, Mozartfest Würzburg, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommen, Heidelberger Frühling and Stift Festival. Some of their highlights include performances at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Wigmore Hall in London and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. The Trio were broadcast on Deutschlandradio, Deutschlandfunk and Radio Clasica in Spain. They performed extensively in Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Turkey, Holland and Brazil. The Trio's future projects include concerts in UK, Holland and the United States, as well as recording a debut CD in 2014. They are founders and artistic directors of the annual 'Kammermusikfest Sylt' in Germany, the first highly successful event having occurred in 2012. They won first prizes at the Josef Mirabent and Magrans Competition in Spain and at the European Karlsruhe Competition in Germany. They are also prize winners of several international competitions including Schumann (Germany), Maria Canals (Spain), Brahms (Austria) and Almere (The Netherlands).
