‘Meet me at the Sunset’ is a group exhibition organised and curated by Liverpool-based Romanian artist Nicole Bartos / Gallery4allarts.
This exhibition is part of the Independents Liverpool Biennial 08, and showcases a total of 24 artists from various backgrounds (Liverpudlians, UK-based Romanians, Irish, Italians, Canadians and Germans). The exhibition is based on their response to, and interpretation of the concept of ‘sunset’.
The project was started with artists meeting at sunset, in various locations in Liverpool, during 19-23 September. The exhibition, featuring a variety of art forms (photography, video art, installation, mixed media and painting) opened to the public on 18 October. A day of live art performance was organised on 1 November with the participation of Japanese artist Nagachoo and Liverpool artist Joanne Ashbridge.
Besides Nicole Bartos, the other Romanian artists taking part in this exhibition are Crina Boros (crinaboros.blogspot.com/), Oana Camilleri Urcan (www.oanaurcan.com/), Silviu Pascalin, and Roxana Tohaneanu Shields (www.rtshields.co.uk/), exhibiting photography and video.
‘Meet me at the Sunset’ is supported by the Ratiu Foundation / Romanian Cultural Centre in London.
