The School of Romanian Culture and Tradition’s Annual Celebration

The School of Romanian Culture and Tradition, supported by the Ratiu Foundation / Romanian Cultural Centre in London, will have its end of school year celebration under the heading ‘The Gala of Young Romanian Talent – Celebrating the artistic potential of London’s Romanian Children’ on Friday 11 June 2010. The children enrolled in the School will perform for an audience of parents, relatives, and invited guests.
The artistic programme will see the children perform on various musical instruments, do a dance programme and exhibit their own drawings on the theme ‘Romania through a child’s eyes’. At the end of the evening, the most beautiful drawings will be awarded prizes.
The evening will start at 18.00 with an artistic programme, followed by the prize giving ceremony, viewing of the exhibition, and taking part in a workshop with all the children. Light refreshments will be also available. Details from cceanglia@googlemail.com (Delia Sambeteanu).

The exhibition with children’s drawings can be viewed by the public from 7 to 18 June 2010, at the Ratiu Foundation / Romanian Cultural Centre, Manchester Square, 18 Fitzhardinge Street, London W1H 6EQ; Tel. 020 7486 0295 ext. 108; e-mail: bookings@romanianculturalcentre.org.uk. The School of Romanian Culture and Tradition in London is an educational programme aiming to preserve the connection of Romanian children in the UK with the essential elements of Romanian culture. The School offers Romanian language classes, courses in Romanian history and geography, religion and ethnography, as well as recreational activities, to children between the ages of 5 and 16.
All the activities of the School are organised with the support of a group of qualified Romanian teachers, with pedagogic experience both in Romania and the UK.
