Born in November 1984 in Hunedoara, Romania.
After studying at music school in Alba Iulia, Romania, Dan Liviu Cernat entered the Royal Academy of Music, London, in 2003. Dan Liviu benefits from a Ratiu Foundation Scholarship. He is also supported by PARC (Parliamentary Appeal for Romanian Children) and the Anglo-Romanian Bank.
He is in the first year of study at the Royal Academy of Music and works under the guidance of the distinguished violist Yuko Inoue.
Despite being not yet 20, Dan Liviu Cernat has won many prizes. His debut on the London stage came with two concerts in the Romanian New Contemporaries Series, organized by the Romanian Cultural Centre, at the Romanian Church on 11 March 2004, and the David Josefowitz Hall, Royal Academy of Music on 13 March 2004.
