Director Tomasz Wasilewski’s multi-award winning United States of Love is set for release in UK cinemas on 18th November. Amongst the prizes the film has already won is a prestigious Silver Bear Award from the Berlin Film Festival. With this, his third film, Wasilewski is proving to be one of the emerging shining lights of modern Polish cinema.
It’s 1990 and the winds of change are blowing in Poland. This is the first euphoric year of freedom for the country, but it’s also one of uncertainty for the future. Four apparently happy women of different ages decide it’s time to change their lives, fight for their happiness and fulfill their desires. The film features remarkable performances from the cast which includes Julia Kijowska, Magdalena Cielecka, Dorota Kolak, Marta Nieradkiewicz and Andrzej Chyra.
