The guest of honour at the 21st edition of the Encounters festival is the Romanian cinema: celebrated filmmakers and award-winning short films will be the centrepiece of the country focus.
 
Romanian Cultural Institute is happy to support the two Romanian directors in the official competition: Adrian Sitaru and Andrei Crețulescu, who will present the UK premieres of their most recent films, "Excursion" and "Ramona".

Part 1 of a country focus produced in partnership with Arkadia Shortfest presents a selection of the most rewarded Romanian short films in recent history that have helped shape the ‘New Romanian Wave’.
