Winner of the 2011 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, Moldovan-born soprano Valentina Naforniţa has quickly established herself as one of the world’s most sought-after younger singers, acclaimed for both her vivid opera performances and her vibrant concert recitals displaying her fine voice and sensual characterisation.
Partnered by Roger Vignoles, piano accompanist to a host of renowned singers, she performs a selection of richly Romantic songs, including colourful gypsy melodies by Dvořák, intense Russian vocal works by Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, and Fauré’s evocative Chanson d’amour and Le secret.
