One of the most original Romanian theatre companies, Masca Theatre of Bucharest, will perform in London for the first time as part of the Night of Festivals, the noisily spectacular celebration of freedom and democracy taking over the South bank of the Thames in high summer. Founded and managed by renowned actor-director Mihai Mălaimare, Masca is the only Romanian company specialised in mime, gesture and physical theatre.
The London performances, showcasing some of the company's best works of the past years including the awesome 'living statues', will take place at The Scoop and in the parks adjourning Tower Bridge with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, the City Hall of Bucharest and ArtReach.
