The gallery below presents a selection from the activities run in Romania by our sister-organisations the Ratiu Center for Democracy from Turda, in Transylvania, and the Ratiu Foundation Romania from Bucharest.

The Ratiu Center for Democracy (RCD) is an independent, non-governmental Romanian foundation, registered under Romanian law in 2004 in Turda, Transylvania. Based on the life and work of the late Romanian politician, journalist, writer, businessman and philanthropist, Ion Ratiu (1917-2000), the Center's vision is to promote the values and behaviours associated with the practice of democracy, encouraging citizens of all ages to reach their fullest potential in the service of their community.

Ratiu Foundation Romania was established in Bucharest, in 1993, by Elisabeth Ratiu. In 2009 the RFR decided to concentrate on Art for Social Engagement. Its schedule was arranged to unfold projects of 'active assistance', either solely organised by Ratiu Foundation Romania or in partnership with associations and foundations dealing with similar approaches.
